Summary. Phase does not collect any data. It has no accounts and no servers of its own, and it never sends what you write anywhere. The only thing that ever touches the network is the App Store handling Phase's single one-time purchase (section 5). What you write leaves this iPhone only through iOS features you control, such as your device backup (see section 2).
Phase is made by yaketa, an independent developer. Contact: phase.app.support@gmail.com.
Phase stores the following on your device, and nothing else:
This information is written to your device's storage, and Phase never transmits any of it. If you back your iPhone up to iCloud or to a computer, your Phase data is included in that backup like any other app's data; you can exclude Phase from iCloud Backup in iOS Settings.
Phase does not read your photo library — photos are chosen through Apple's system photo picker, which runs outside the app and hands Phase only the images you pick.
Phase does not collect, transmit, upload, or sync your data, and it keeps no backup of its own — the device backup described in section 2 is an iOS feature, not Phase's. It has no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting SDK, no third-party SDKs, no tracking of any kind, and no account or sign-in. It contains no networking code of its own and works with no network connection at all — the one exception is buying or restoring the one-time purchase, which is a conversation between your device and the App Store (section 5).
Phase shares no user data with anyone — nothing it stores ever reaches us, and it has no means to share it. Two things are worth stating plainly: downloading Phase and buying its one-time purchase are transactions with Apple and are covered by Apple's own privacy policy; and this policy page is hosted on GitHub Pages, so opening it makes an ordinary web request that GitHub may log (for example your IP address). That is this website, not the app.
Phase is free for up to two notes. A single one-time purchase, "Unlimited Notes", lifts that limit. The whole transaction runs through Apple's App Store:
If you allow notifications, Phase asks iOS to show a local notification when each note you have switched notifications on for begins. These are scheduled by iOS on your device. No push server is involved, and nothing is sent to us or to anyone else. By default a notification shows the note's label and the beginning of its text, which means what you write can appear on the lock screen; choose "Label only" in Settings and notifications will show only the label and the time. You can withdraw notification permission at any time in iOS Settings › Notifications › Phase.
Your data stays on your device until you delete it. We keep nothing, so there is nothing for us to retain or erase.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because Phase never sends us any data, we hold nothing from the app and there is nothing for us to act on. The one exception is email: if you write to us, we see your address and whatever your message contains; we use it only to reply, and we delete the exchange once the matter is closed. Write to phase.app.support@gmail.com for any of the above and we will respond within 30 days. If you need a postal address for a formal request, ask by email and we will provide it. We do not sell or share your personal information.
Phase is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 in the EU/EEA). It collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.
Your data lives in Phase's private app container and is protected by the device-level protections iOS applies to app data. Those protections depend on your having a passcode set on this iPhone. Phase adds no encryption of its own, and it has no server-side component to secure.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new "Last updated" date.
